This is a tool for one person to acquire a lot of power. Sam Altman wants his technology to become unavoidable, and mandatory. He makes the problem. Then we depend on him to fix it. Bad move for privacy & freedom. Worse move for #Reddit , which he might very well one day compete against.

you'll have no security if you provide any kind of biometric information to the computers... they will always be stolen and with your info on file to anyone who wants to target you.. you will be a slave to their data banks

I really like the format of reddit. The owners are intolerable though. The long posts by bored experts in their field seeking community could be reproduced in a decentralized manner. Remember their API bullshit. Too bad lemmy is shit.

I have deleted my reddit accounts, the site is getting worse all the time. Anyway, most users want to be anonymous there so this would most likely never work.
