We do need to ponder the disconnection between the literal dozens of people who are angrily racist enough to come out onto the streets and do angry-racist things personally, and the c.25-30% of the entire electorate currently willing to say they want an angry racist as Prime Minister.

I think of this as "passive activism" - folks who will happily vote for the "radical" option but don't really want to do anything to publicly associate with it or make it happen. You get them at both ends of the spectrum.
