I don't think he's saying they're uniquely vile, just the normal amount of vile for people whose government is telling them that they need to do a genocide.

zionism is uniquely vile so a state that's entire reason for being is centred around zionism will create a population of uniquely vile people. Penitant just happens to be a "left wing zionist" so he can't handle people talking so frankly about what israel is.

for me it's the fact that it always was ultranationalism turned up to 11 from day one in terms of demonizing their "ethnic enemies" and also because their whole claim to Palestine is so bogus.

like say what you will about other forms of ethnonationalism, but they at least have "grassroots" in the sense it's from people who've always (or percieved themselves to have) lived in a certain place. Whereas with zionism it's people who've lived in Brookyln or Poland or whatever.
