Not yet. It’s bad, but we aren’t in ‘we’ll never recover from this’ territory yet.

What forces do you see returning politics to Quasi-normal? SCOTUS? The GOP? Talk radio? Social Media? The 90M who did not vote? I am a vet, so I will continue to fight, but I don't see normalcy ever returning.
normalcy wasn't working for a lot of people before so I think we'll be better then normal once we get a dem in office again.
I have major fears. People seem numb, almost in denial about what is happening. I hope I am wrong, but apathy seems to be winning. That means MAGA is winning.
so no they're not in fact "winning" in the slightest, they've actually lost in court a lot, hell Dunce had to withdraw one of his terrible nominees for the Postal Service board due to backlash.
what do expect people to do? run around screaming like headless chickens? that's not going to accomplish anything. It's not "apathy" just because we're not acting like Chicken Little every single time Dunce claims he's going to do some ridiculous thing that he can't actually do.
What do I expect? I expect nothing. I just look at political weather vanes. We have yet to see any elected GOPers breaking with Trump. Said another way, there are no John McCains calling out Trump. Hope I am wrong and there is a ground-swell brewing. I just don't see it yet.
I'm talking in terms of dems, i'm not talking about the GOP, them going along with Dunce should not be remotely surprising to anyone, they're bootlickers so of course they would.
We are in the territory of the longer we are apathetic the more difficult the reversal it's not getting any easier and the fight against it is not intensifying
Sadly, we won’t recover from this in my lifetime Trump, of all people
I would not be so sure about that
Agreed. We think it’s already too late…
I'm not that optimistic. With all the damage that has been done in a short amount of time I'm skeptical we ever have a free and fair election again.
i'm plenty optimistic, if we survived the goddamn Civil War we can survive this. They still had elections then and they'll still have them now as they are run by the states.
Well, I just read their plans are to send troops to southern states like TN and SC. I'm surprised KY isn't on the list, but these folks grew up with Smokey and the Bandit and the Dukes of Hazard. This is not going to be swallowed easily. Trump will overplay this hand by a lot. He doesn't know it.
🙏🙏🙏
In many ways, we are already in “we won’t recover in my (GenX) lifetime.” Specifically, SCOTUS.
It's gonna take a generation to restore our position in the world, if we're ever even able to.
You’ve passed it. You have a perfect storm to guarantee a fascist takeover: 1 constitutional violations with no consequences 2 willing accomplices 3 foreign interference 4 tech oligarch bribery 5 media capitulation 6 decimated institutions 7 weaponised armed forces 8 insufficient bravery to rise up
You used to give me hope and now I think you are understating the peril we’re in.
Thank you for that hope! Blue dot in Texas.
We’re pretty damn close!
If we give up yes. But if we fight no. This is far from over…
Everyone should read Rebecca solnitz essay on never surrendering today.
Thanks, haven’t seen it, appreciate her voice.
Hoping you are 💯 correct!
The trajectory is way worse than never recover
no it's not, spare me the doomsaying.
Great #music #cool #videos We are in #Orlando If you are a #dancer #model or #influencer or have a #humanistic project Get in touch & we may feature and promote you. (No Porn) We have songs on Obama’s playlist! m.youtube.com/@FemalesLive...
I keep worrying about that too.
Yes we are and you know it
Wrong. Losers take this approach.
That's good to hear. I can't imagine the present state of our government is sustainable.
I think you might be in very serious trouble. Countries around the world are making new trade deals, leaving the U.S. isolated. China is emerging as the super power. There is no respect or trust left in the world for your country. It’s a very serious issue.
I’m genuinely curious why you don’t think it’s that bad yet? I am an expat watching from Oz and it looks pretty bad. Armed troops in cities, ICE and the building of detention centres, gerrymandering, and WH “improvements” that he would not get to enjoy if he didn’t plan to stick around.
Oh yeh? Still sure the next elections are gonna be fair? Or will even happen? Wake up.
Where there is life, there is hope. I agree we all need to support each other (even if it involves holding our noses or not gagging)
What do you think needs to happen before we are in that territory? Because from here, it looks like we passed that point the moment troops rolled into Los Angeles.
This makes me feel better. Thank you.
same same
We could make a case that the effects of other catastrophic events, such as the Civil War, WW2, genocide of native peoples, slavery, were so disabling that we still haven’t, and may never, recover.
