I do think the DNC has to stop treating new progressives like the plague, yes. But there has to be a give and take there, too - Progressives have to understand that they can’t just badmouth ‘normie’ Dems at will. We’re all on the same side and need to act like it.

I agree with you that we have to vote blue because our democracy is most important. However, current Dem leadership has to accept progressives (OR GO!). And, we have to invent a very unique approach to permanently "acquire" dem-leaning independents, or we will fight these MAGA lunatics for years.

He was never a good guy. Lots of us, and especially Black women, warned that he was not trustworthy. The way he pulled a shotgun on a random Black jogger based on nothing but suspicion that he might have been involved in a crime the week before ... Huge red flag that a bunch of people ignored

He already had some red flags as mentioned, but after his stroke, it intensified greatly. He refused the mental evaluation that people often need to monitor personality changes that can occur post stroke. Several of his staffers anonymously told a reporter that he wasn't the same (worse) after.

Our current Dem leadership is sadly very ineffective. Social media posts about what we already know, some lawsuits and hearings. We NEED fresh, new progressives willing to take chances. A lot of these do nothing Dems really need to step aside. Sadly, they won't.

There were many reasons Dems lost, that’s just one element which theoretically could have been offset and perhaps even bettered if the Dems had tried to appeal to some of the desires of the far left rather than relying on the more centrist demographic. They did lose voters from both.

Turnout wasn't significantly higher among centrists. Democrats made much the same mistakes as in 2016, and got a similar result. (But why learn from your mistakes when you can scapegoat the left?)
