I agree with you that we have to vote blue because our democracy is most important. However, current Dem leadership has to accept progressives (OR GO!). And, we have to invent a very unique approach to permanently "acquire" dem-leaning independents, or we will fight these MAGA lunatics for years.

Wow. I missed that. I think I mostly saw him on Colbert and was thinking he was doing some positive things at the time but that's all I remember. I guess I'm getting old.
He already had some red flags as mentioned, but after his stroke, it intensified greatly. He refused the mental evaluation that people often need to monitor personality changes that can occur post stroke. Several of his staffers anonymously told a reporter that he wasn't the same (worse) after.
Mental evaluations need to be mandatory but I'm not sure what the penalty for refusal would be.
He seems to have gotten more volatile and much harder to deal with since his stroke, but anyone willing to research his record during the primaries would have seen that Malcolm Kenyatta and Conor Lamb were both superior choices

I think of the moderates as hosts. They are responsible for setting a cordial tone and should be expected to show some tolerance to those who have been out in the elements.

Our current Dem leadership is sadly very ineffective. Social media posts about what we already know, some lawsuits and hearings. We NEED fresh, new progressives willing to take chances. A lot of these do nothing Dems really need to step aside. Sadly, they won't.
And Dems aren’t a monolith. Some candidates resonate in one area and not another. We need to focus on winning every election - not on purity tests.

There were many reasons Dems lost, that’s just one element which theoretically could have been offset and perhaps even bettered if the Dems had tried to appeal to some of the desires of the far left rather than relying on the more centrist demographic. They did lose voters from both.

Turnout wasn't significantly higher among centrists. Democrats made much the same mistakes as in 2016, and got a similar result. (But why learn from your mistakes when you can scapegoat the left?)

I'm 70 years old living in a small town in MN and believe we need to vote in young progressives and get rid of the old establishment Dems who have their hands in corporate pockets. It's time to legislate for the real people.
