That’s simple, actually. They aren’t going after research and healthcare specifically - they’re going after data and verifiable facts period. The entire goal is to keep people dumb and afraid. It’s been their goal to force us into a post-fact society for a long time, and they’re close.

It's actually part of the assault on higher education which they see as a liberal power base. Research, especially biomedical research, plays a big part in HE economics and they want to destroy that. Additionally, one sect truly believes that NIH is evil and is responsible for engineering COVID-19.
Thats an Opus Dei tenet. Goes back to the role of the church in the Dark Ages being the gatekeeper of knowledge.
