Did this w/MiL two years ago. Pretty much just down to timing now. Though, sadly, that c/b anywhere from ten minutes to two years. Likely the latter as they’ll prop him up cuz unlike MiL he gets top notch free med care.

The dynamics of a malignant narcissist personality coupled with his very apparent mental deterioration due to dementia, do make it stressful. Not in a way that it'd be to most people, but most people don't have his personality disorders.

The specter of being found out and humiliated is a Sword of Damocles hanging over his head. You see the stress when he wilds out and acts more erratically than usual. When he feels all is good he relaxes and is more "calm" and controlled.

He doesn't care about the job but he does care about himself. Maintaining control over his house of cards is stressful. Different than the usual stress presidents are under, but the constancy of keeping up the con is a lot for someone with dementia.

Quite right. He does not take the job seriously, he treats it as his own reality show. He loves the attention and in his downtime (a large proportion of the time) he has his golf which he always wins. He’s here until the fast food slows him down to a full, final stop.
