You know you can shoot a nazi without denying them their humanity?

If you pretend they aren't human you're absolving society for creating the environment that drove those people to such an ideology. It makes you as much of the problem as they are. You need to drive out fascism and fix the problems that created it in the first place.

Youre blaming antiracists for the behavior or racists...you...you see that right? Youre saying that being poorly treated for being a fascist is a valid reason to become a fascist.

No,. Fascism is often symptomatic of other issues in society, and exploited by bigots and racists. By refusing to see the person, you are willfully ignoring the issues that led them down the path. It's important to reach people before they're radicalised or else the problem continues.

I can hate a flame and pour water on it, but if I don't also remove it's fuel source then I can never truly extinguish it.

I actually think the source of that fuel is the insulation we give religiously based hatred. We protect religiously based ideas from scrutiny.

We remove the fuel source by removing tolerance for hate ideologies. We have to inflicy social consequences for what we might consider small behavior. For example, if your family is racist, you become intolerant of them. Education and outreach have done all they can.

I believe intolerance for extreme ideologies just drives them underground, and while this may make them less accessable to some people, it doesn't stamp them out. Fascism feeds especially on disenfranchised and vulnerable young men, often by giving them an easy answer and something to blame.

Some of this we can fight as individuals, such as toxic masculinity and by creating safe spaces for people to talk about their issues, but other things such as improving mental health provision, welfare and better schools will have to come from the government.

I object to the use of the word radical. That word is for people who want to change the status quo for the future. Racists and fascists are regressives, desire a return to the past. What do you do when the nazis are now comfortable enough that theyre out in the streets claiming "freedom of speech"
