I'm not sure what the point of a non-eco socialist party would be, it'd be like doing only half the job. To me the whole point of socialism is that, unlike capitalism, it is sustainable in all its facets, socially, economically and environmentally.

Green politics emerges as a distinct school of thought in some part specifically because socialist economics pulled off things like evaporating the Aral Sea. It is a separate thing.
Yeah I mean lol it's a nice idea but there are absolutely schools of socialist thought that say dry the seas and frack the oil til it's dry.
One doesn't even need to look to the Soviet Union, it's sufficient to look at how in the modern UK there are trade unions whose take on the idea of a transition away from oil is "absolutely fucking not."
I remember first seeing stuff about one Mr J. Corbyn back in '15 with his suggestion that reopening some coal mines might make Wales an energy exporter attracting some attention in a leadership contest going on at the time...
