You’re going to die someday and if you have kids, you should have a plan in place for that. It’s what responsible adults do.

No. That’s why it’s on them as adults to seek out and purchase their own life insurance policies before they sink money into boats and motorcycles. Anything less shows a lack of foresight. Which is the definition of “short sighted.”
