The only reason I read catcher in the Rye was because some parents at school tried to ban it.

Same with Perks of Being a Wallflower (they actually succeeded, but then the Book Fair sold it when they came so I got it from that). Ended up being one of the most helpful, mental health-wise, books that I've ever read.
Unpopular opinion: Catcher in the Rye is overrated. I read it and was bored. Not to mention I hate Holden Caufield. The prick needed his ass kicked.
I share this opinion.
So glad I wasn’t the only one who was bored. Re-read as an adult and still was bored.
I certainly have opinions about some of the books that I've read. Keep reading!
Also, not everyone is meant to place literature in its movements, or understand why things might be indications of societal shift. There are people who see 'Woman Descending a Staircase' as a picture by someone who needs Specsavers for example as opposed to a revelation of a new style of language.
And---- that's great. Can you think of a reason why people shouldn't be allowed to read it though?
Ask the Alberta Government. It’s ’on the list’.
speaking of 'the list' Epstein.
