It was seeing an eclipse that did it for me. They’ve been happening for billions of years and will continue for billions more, and nothing we do will make the slightest difference. But only we can feel awe when we see them.

Yes, I like that sense of continuity. It makes whatever issues or problems I am having suddenly seem much smaller. Not unimportant, but less ego based.
