Well, lots of 'Merkians might help - as long as you promise them fossils can't be more then about 6,000 years old.

Technically they aren't generally called fossils until they are >10,000 years old, but we have well over 500,000 modern marine specimens too! 😉 (No, I'm not confused, I had an undergrad degree in religion and have worked in Kansas and Texas-just telling the truth)
