In Texas, we learned John Wayne died defending the Alamo.
😄
To be honest, when you look at where Texas has been in on school rankings, there may not actually be much difference
Teach your children history. Talk about it all the time.
And trying to find a way to explain to their kids why their trans classmate/friend moved away.
(Laughs and then immediately tears up a little)
Do they really care about truth? At least they can learn the Bible the evangelical cult way.
Umm, not true, I teach in Texas and while I was making my weekly copies I saw some worksheets over the “Atlantic Slave Trade”.
Like many of the teachers I work with, somebody didn’t download the new curriculum. 🤷♂️
One less spiral notebook to buy for your children. It's a win-win for christianity, because it saves you money. Success in the christofascist's god's eye is how much money you horde and how many children you have molested.
They were born ready.
You've seen the textbooks from that state. Lots of those kids were already not learning history. Thanks for doing what you do. I live in the south and it's good to know I'm not the only one seeing this shit.
💯 If there's any books left! The low literacy rates will definitely help stop the learning. 50th in special education: apparently those kids don't deserve to learn. "Literacy is not about reading and writing, it's about privilege and power" -Kylene Beers
…..science,math,the intentional ignorance screams “texas”….
Only when covered in White gravy and spiced with evangelism.
