So remember how there was a lot of predation, leading to only one chicken on the farm? She hangs out with the ducks a lot, but really it seems like she's everywhere. Her nest is in the barn near the horses. Except she's stopped laying. And she's started crowing. 1/

Now, I've heard that chickens will change sex if there aren't any of the other sex left in a flock, but if that's what the Highlander is doing now, she/he is in for some hard luck, because there will be only one no matter if the Highlander is hen or rooster.

The ducks were down to two hens, also, when they hatched the next generation. The farmers had been looking away from the bird population since bird flu is still such a big danger.
