This is pretty out of context if you actually read the whole thing. Basically what the text is saying is: Mental (and other) illness is on the rise (which is true) and higher in the US than most other developed countries (also true). And that they are going to investigate what can be done about it

And the points they make are mostly p positive actually. Like: * Making health research more open/transparent * Work with farmers to produce healthier food * Look into education/physical exercise/nutrition programs to prevent child diseases All of which are very valid and important points.

I'm not saying everything is good. There is stuff like "assess the threat that potential over-utilization of medication […] pose". But at least they are willing to investigate it and gather data before they just act. Even if Trump can still ignore the data later on, it's better than no data.

But at no point do they attack people with mental illnesses, like the screenshot implies. Look, I have a deep and growing hatred for this administration too and I don't even live there, but we can't start taking things out of context to shit on them. That is what they do, not we.

There are enough legit reasons to shit on them anyway. Ultimately this is just a commission to advise the government. And this also includes ppl like the admin of the EPA, secretary of education etc (I don't really know about the ppl as persons but their posts at least make sense here)

So if they do their job correctly and scientifically, they will make an objective report that is backed by research. Will they do that? Idk. But I think we should at least wait to see the first report in 96 days to see if they do, because objectively, this order doesn't sound that bad.

In my original post, i meant what I said literally... It's difficult to explain how bad this is. Most of the order is word salad. The reason for the commission is nothing other than 4chan style nonsense "the threat of ssri's" What threat? /

Which is to say the language in here sounds good, but it's also designed to legitimize their concerns instead of evidence. Also, if they wanted actual helpful information, they'd be commissioning medical professionals, not politicians and talking heads. /

There is a zero percent chance that they issue a scientific report and a near certainty that they just issue a report that sounds nice in order to further their agenda. Specifically, this is related to military recruitment. Currently, many of these issues hinder military recruitment. /

So most likely, just like everything else they do, they'll say a bunch of shit that sounds nice... and then just ban the diagnosis or meds or whatever. This is in conjunction with their plan to get everyone unemployed and then make military service the only way not to starve.

I know this is a fucked up example, but do you know who'd call bullshit on the idea that Autistics and neurodivergents can't hack military service? The Israelis. I shit you not. They not only recruit Autistics for the IDF, they also provide them resources to be mainstreamed.

You mean the very man who says that people on sris should be sent out to camps? I mean, are we sure that he's in charge and not the brainworm upstairs?

In the context of autism all of that is just eugenics. Diagnosis of autism is on the rise because of more accurate data and diagnostic methods. Autism is genetic. It’s got sweet fuck all to do with nutrition, vaccines, or anything else RFK jr thinks

The guy they put in charge of it was talking the other day about sending people who have adhd or take antidepressants to 4 year labour camps. Free farm labour and fresh air so they could learn better than to seek medical help.
