That's what happens if the only measure of success is quarterly/yearly profit I guess
The problem is that if management lays people off, the company makes more profits for a little while, managers get put in higher positions for their "success" and the problems only arise after they're gone already and someone else has to fix it.
To be fair I haven't played much else that was released this year. I wasn't really aware of Avowed and E33 either until right before launch, so who knows, but rn I don't see anything scheduled for this year, that I'm super hyped for. Unless Silksong releases lmao jk unless...?
I think it's gonna be between Avowed and Expedition 33 for me.
Yeah some of the complaints I saw were ridiculous. Like NPCs not having full schedules. You can't just go into every game expecting that. Or that the ocean has no fluid physics. Those things are cool, but if they did that they'd have less time for more important things like combat or performance.
I really don't understand why Avowed had such a bad reception. I had tons of fun.

Another factor to consider is, that especially in 2021 air traffic was generally reduced a lot because of the pandemic and there were still more accidents. In my opinion only the mid air collision over Washington *might* be possible to blame on ATC, but I haven't looked into it enough.

The same thing happened after the Boeing 737 crashes, when suddenly people started panicking at every tiny abnormal thing. The NTSB has a database with all the aviation accidents in the US, so I looked up some numbers.
I forgor the proper term but because one incident was big in the news, people start looking into it more and suddenly start noticing all these "smaller" accidents that just don't get reported on normally.
I have not worked in ATC, but I have flown gliders as a hobby for multiple years, so I know a lot of atc persons and pilots, both hobby and professional airline pilots. Not to mention I'm just a fucking nerd. And yes, this is completely overreported.
P sure it would have been 4, but it is Canada not US. Also I can't think of anything ATC could fuck up for this to happen, so I think a combination of pilot error/weather/runway conditions seem more likely as cause, but we'll have to see...
