Just to be very clear, because the news outlets are not: Graham Linehan was arrested for actively and specifically inciting violence. He said on twitter that if you met a trans woman in women's toilets you should punch her in the genitalia.

Yes The Guardian post had nothing. Thanks for the facts
Right.
Which under UK law is incitement to violence, specifically violent assault, which, in the UK, is a crime. And from the rest of his twitter content it was objectively reasonable to conclude that this was not a βjokeβ; it was a serious and direct incitement to commit a violent assault.
There was no overreach. A man was arrested for committing a pretty serious crime, and, when he had a medical episode during the arrest, he was treated fairly and promptly in accordance with their duty of care. As *should* happen when someone in custody has a medical need.
I would like to note in the context of that *many* people with serious mental illnesses die in the custody of the various UK police forces every year because their medical needs are *not* taken seriously and treated promptly, in *violation* of their duty of care.
Re deaths in custody, which have massively increased this year across the UK: www.sccjr.ac.uk/wp-content/u... www.inquest.org.uk/safety-in-cu...
And when that happens their deaths are barely reported, if at all, and certainly not commented upon by the Prime Minister. Funny how the privilege of being a wealthy, privileged bigot works, isnβt it?
I feel that it is also worth mentioning that he has been on bail since May & is returning to court tomorrow for charges of harassment & criminal damage targeting a trans woman.
I'm actually fairly hopeful that the charge of criminal damage which is increased due to it being against someone with protected characteristics and therefore a hate crime may lead to a custodial sentence, his past transphobia can be used in evidence against him including socials...
... if that happens in U.K. law it's a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 6 months. The TERFs and transphobes of course will lose their $hit if that happens! He so needs a wake up call/an intervention, maybe some mandatory deradicalisation therapy in jail might help him. That or some ECT:
Yup, extremely relevant
Considering that cis women already get harrassed as if trans for not looking feminine enough he's 100% just inciting violence against women in general.
As all transphobes do. Theyβre all misogynists, and we can never stop making that clear. Man arrested for inciting people to punch women in the genitals for being in bathroom.
Not surprised he added the IDF ribbon to his name, they share a love of violence and bigotry
