Anyways, the president has little to no power to assert any authority over local elections and the current judicial apparatus is also deeply skeptical of any federal intervention in elections because they want to make it all state legislature based.

With a majority of scotus being loyal Trump judges, the likelihood is that they will once again claim something that is false about the constitution that miraculously gives him the power. Watch and see.

The problem is that administering an election is a real world physical process that involves things like staffing, logistics, vendor relationships, etc. This is something you could change in 10 years, not 18 months.

They don't 'want' to make it 'state legislature based', the US Constitution says that the states make election decisions with only certain federal restrictions! So, the courts really don't make a choice, they just cite the rule by saying that the President has no authority to interfere!

I guess it depends on how you read the sentence and just who the 'they' is in 'they want'! When I read it 1st, I thought courts but, could be either! If it's trump and his stooges, it means one thing, but if it's the courts, then it has a different meaning! Any comment from the original poster?
