I will say that the group of people I'm following here versus who I was following on twitter is very different. A lot of the data types have remained on twitter, as well as a lot of the polling aggregators. I find that I'm following more individual pollsters and academics.

My best guess is the people on twitter having a whine about bluesky are mostly because their engagement has dropped in sum total on both platforms. And engagement is basically everything for these people.

Anyways, the president has little to no power to assert any authority over local elections and the current judicial apparatus is also deeply skeptical of any federal intervention in elections because they want to make it all state legislature based.
It's not really a coincidence that Trump is panicking and signing an executive order to try and do stuff with voting right after the GOP got creamed in another special election and another one of their incumbents decided to not run again.
Look at the polling from '24 - people who had voted in previous elections (i.e. high propensity voters) were D +8 or so on average. It was all the one time voters who are affected most seriously by voter suppression that put Trump over the top.
Mail-in ballots strictly limited + mandatory voter ID + voter role schinanigans almost certainly benefits the democratic coalition rn and deeply impacts low propensity Trump voters who make up the backbone of the current GOP coalition.
