In our real world, yes categorically. In the hyper theoretical or freshman philosophy/ psychology realm in which most tech bros operate, I am sure it is a thing. Would rather see Zuc, Altman & Co think about the real concrete damage they are doing to actual humans, right now, in the real world.

Right, so two questions. Can AI be sentient in theory and is it relevant right now? I don't see why feelings would be unique to carbon and hydrogen. To me it's clear AI could have feelings. And just because there are more urgent issues doesn't mean it shouldn't be discussed. Not relevant atm tho.
