So do you bake it twice? First to make bread pudding, then bake in to scones?

What is “Wet Nelly” in this recipe?????
It’s a special bread pudding made of Nelson Cake from Liverpool but I just use whatever bread pudding I have and it’s great.
So this is the third incarnation of this cake: it was first a walnut cake that we didn’t like, so I turned it into bread pudding to give it oomph. Then it goes cold into a scone recipe. It is a classic “never let anything go to waste” recipe.
I’ve been craving bread pudding lately! This is a sign to make it, right? 🤣
The universe has spoken. Keep 400g back for the scones!
I wonder if this would make me love scones as I love bread pudding . Might try it .
It’s really good and ALSO makes my judgmental parsimonious ancestors who live in my head and yell at me when I am frivolous happy.
Love this!! I might well make some bread pudding next week then!
I wrote it up for someone - wet Nelly is the bread pudding made of Nelson cake but any bread pudding works!
Thanks! I'm getting quite excited about them now :)
What a pretty plate.
😊 I decided I was bored with plain white plates. I’m a rebel!
Looks good. I’m about 1/10th through the scones in that book 😂
I love that book - it’s so good. And thank you!
They look delicious.
Thank you!
