Yes, the info I have says certain breeds — and the size of each esophagus — are more prone to certain allergies and choking [such as on almonds] than others, along with a multitude of other items as you've listed. We find out the hard way when a food allergy pops up! 😉
My guy gets almond *butter*, because I am allergic to peanuts, but not whole almonds, no. Dogs don’t really have molars so they tend to swallow them whole and that can definitely be a choking issue.
Dogs have multiple molars (www.purina.co.uk/articles/dog...) and use them to chew accordingly. For example, mine always loved raw carrots, and they did not chew them with their canine teeth. That said, yes, supervision is always important to avoid choking. 👍

Had a beagle who chewed through about 7 electric cables and every shoe in the house. And my mum was Imelda Marcus level.
Before I knew chocolate was extremely dangerous for dogs, I had a Tibetan Terrier who lived for the stuff. Once stole a giant bar of Milka and the only way I found out was from the tinfoil and purple paper I'm his poop. And chocolate breath. Now I have a mixed breed who's allergic to red meat.
Had a pup who once scarfed down a 5-lb tin of chocolate chip cookies (before I knew "counter surfing" was a thing). Thankfully chips were milk chocolate, so not *as* bad (but still, yikes!) Vet looked her over and said, "She'll be fine, but it's going to be a wild 24 hrs for you both. It'll pass."
Lessons were learned that day. Very thankful to the vet, for sure. (It was very messy, but everyone pulled through with flying colors - some of which were the colors from the milk-chocolate candies which were also in the cookies.) 🐾♥️
One of my Beardies ate a 1 lb. Hershey's Kisses we had wrapped and stupidly put under the Christmas tree. I panicked when I got home and saw packaging and paper scattered, so scared she would get deathly ill. Not one ill effect (that we ever saw, anyway). She lived to be 16.
Meant a huge single Hershey's Kiss. Not sure if they make those ginormous things anymore!
I remember those. Mine also stole and ate all the seeds from our weed. We lived in an embassy on Egypt at the time and and I tried to collect all his shits for weeks, afraid they'd sprout. Didn't get sick, but was clearly massively stoned.
He was a crazy dog but he was the best. Smart and crazy, beautiful, and affectionate. I miss him still.

Can’t say which Will and which won’t, but you have to pay full fare for the seat if they allow dogs. I do know it has to do with the season, since airlines stopped putting dogs in cargo holds during the summer.

What I want to know is how to get my dog a seat on an airplane. I've flown with him 3 times and had to put him in a crate in the hold. He doesn't like loud noises and is visibly stressed when I get him back. I know he would have been much happier in the seat next to me!!

Great Danes are such a sweet laid back pup. I found one that was 8 months old just after hurricane Katrina. We looked for his owners but never found them. He was the bestest dog and I don’t think he had a mean bone in his body
So many sad stories came out of that awful storm (I'll never forget that poor kid weeping for Snowball) but this is a good one. Thank you for taking in a dog that needed a home - especially a big dog.

By what circumstances was a dog allowed to fly with people on a plane? I k ow people love their dogs, but my wife and kids are horribly allergic. A dog on a plane is putting my loved ones in the hospital.
I know of people with a physical disability who fly with their service dog. They always get bulkhead seating where the dog must remain on the floor. Most passengers don't even know the dog is on the flight.
The pet owner got an "emotional support" certificate from a Facebook-based vendor, and Viva Aerobus flew them from Mexico City to Vallarta (emotional support pets fly free). The owner and vendor are cross-promoting each other on their platforms.
Thank you for that explanation. As a dog lover (and owner of a small dog that barely fits under the seat), I had to wonder how this came about. Not likely to happen on a US airline, for lots of good reasons, some of which have been mentioned in the comments. He is a beautiful dog though.

The dog lover in me is enthralled-but the person with horrendous allergies (in part to dogs) and asthma would be horrified if I had to sit in a compartment with him. They'd have to meet the plane on the tarmac with an ambulance, or I'd walk out and try to cancel my flight before hand. He is amazing.
