Thanks for sharing, Don! 😀
Hello
wish I was there.
Look at all the salmon wow
There are three weeks of summer remaining. The equinox is September 22nd at 2:19 pm EDT.
That’s astronomical summer. Meteorological summer is over.
Salmon are so beautiful in their final days.. They really go to show how beautiful life is. Awesome shot. I was just in Alaska and it's hard to catch that color without the reflection messing it up. Maybe I should have tried the video as well.
A polarizing filter works wonders for that problem or if you have polarized sunglasses you can shoot through them with your phone.
👀👀👀👀
I can’t believe this place exists - how beautiful!
Beautiful and peaceful
always loved fall in AK... had the opportunity to see much of the state while I was there for 6 years..
Grew up fishing there. My baby sister almost fell in once when she was about 6, but was pulled back just in time.
That's a beautiful sight to behold. Hundreds upon hundreds of sockeyr heading upstream to nourish the whole ecosystem.
We took our tour thru Alaska years ago, last northbound cruise about this time of year. Winter comes fast there. All green getting off in Seward to Anchorage to fly to Fairbanks, halfway turned up there. Train to Denali, overnite, wake up to snow.
Trump wants to give a private company mining rights to this river.
Wow!!! Bless you for sharing.
😮😮😮😮😮😍😍😍😍😍

Thanks for posting, pretty sure we may have been at that spot about a year ago. We rented an RV for 10 days and were mezmorized, would love to go back.

Wow, that would be pretty freaky
it was an experience
Makes me miss my home state!
Alaska is like visiting a whole other world. Never have I ever lived in such a state as wondrous and magical.
I have camped on the peninsula and too witnessed the Fall migration of salmon heading upriver and upstreams. It was awesome. The salmon were so thick you could almost walk across the water on them. What a sight!
Beautiful. Thank you
How far were you from where the river meets Kenai Lake? I camped in a National forest there and have always wanted to go back.
About 11 miles.
I've heard the run was amazing this year I miss it so much 😭😭😭
So cool!
Lets continue to maintain healthy #salmon 4-year cycles
I've been there! Stayed in Cooper Landing and was so lucky to fish for 10 days on Kenai, the Russian and Soldadt Rivers back in 2002. Unforgettable trip! ❤️
love to see a healthy(hopefully) fish population.
there was a record run of sockeye in the kenai this year, nearly 4 million fish returned. That doesn’t mean they are not vulnerable, they are, like everything else. Alaska’s the last place with large runs of wild salmon, let’s hope it stays a place with space for them to continue to evolve.
ahhh. I forgot about watching the Ketmai bears this year....always a good thing In the. the classroom
More than a decade ago I spent a summer working as a camp counselor at a summer camp in Alaska on Kenai lake. Still one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been
Beautiful.😍
Salmon Jammin'.

I just finished “The Great Alone” so this is really cool to see!
