Why do I still have back to school anxiety
Why do I still have back to school anxiety
PTSD
Because you can get shot or deported?
Ouch. And I thought forgetting to attend class, forgetting there was an exam, or βworst case β forgetting your trousers was bad.
Good ol' days.
I had a dream a few years ago that I couldn't remember my locker combination and I woke up in a panic because I was going to be late for 5th hour Algebra.
(a+b) * (a-b) = ? Show your work!!! π±π±π±
hahahahahaha Good one. It took a good 20 years until the fuck-I-didn't-study-for-the-test nightmares finally evaporated.
Now I switch into parent pray mode. I have to pray my child makes it home to me everyday without incident. PTSD is real and alive and kicking.
Because some parts of (especially) the K-12 experience were simultaneously boring, shaming, and scary, which is also the combo of emotions thatresult in trauma.
I'd love to study how our education system seems to traumatize a lot of the students for life.
But Jonathan is a full grown man. Shirley he wouldn't still be traumatized by something that happened in school years ago ... right? π€
As an educator itβs a feeling for me that never goes awayβ¦..
To prepare you for the day you get a jury summons.
Depends, what's on your #PermanentRecord?!! π€π±π±π±π€£
Because it's the signal summer is over. That feeling never leaves us!
Labor Day is Monday! π±π±π± (Surprisingly, Hollywood has not made a horror film based on this holiday--yet!)
If youβve ever worked retail youβve lived that horror film
The kids at Annunciation MPLS were pretty anxious today β¦
Itβs the school zones lol
Speed zones return and you have to now be aware of the date and time
I dunno man. I haven't worked in education or been a student in 5 plus years and "back to school!" ads still make me jump out of my skin when I first hear them.
I don't know, but I still get it too.
Probably for the same reason I still have nightmares about algebra homework 40 years later. Numbers, letters, make up your mind what we're doing here, algebra!
Same. 9 wish I could enjoy the fresh smell of fall.
