I think depriving Trump of political power is good, sorry you disagree
I think depriving Trump of political power is good, sorry you disagree
why are you lying about that disagreement? 'bravely' posting 'illegal' stuff here 😆 'not enough' doesn't mean 'nothing'- clearly, but the misnomer absolves those who do not want to do much more than survive thinking they're not going to suffer too much in facsism...
your brave, legal objection is noted
dumb ass...
i think it’s good too, it’d be nice if anyone was actually doing that
A question I ask myself every day on here is to what degree are you pretending to be stupid to win an argument that doesn’t matter, and to what degree are you actually stupid enough to think what you say is true? I’m sure it’s a mix, but which way does it tilt, on balance?
It's like there's a professional liberal sealion class
“I tHiNk dEprIvinG tRuMp of PoLitIcaL PowEr is GoOd” give me a fucking break, lmao
does it seem to you like he’s lacking political power right now? it’s not like they’re sitting around waiting for these confirmations to act, they just throw some toadie in an acting position and get on with the fascism
You should blame the American people. Dems have to play the (zero) cards the American people gave them.
Imagine seeing 77 million people dictating to 270 million people to initiate a program of ethnic cleansing and not just concluding that democracy actually had anything to do with it, but that the people deserved what was coming to them.
Chuck Schumer would certainly agree, as senate leader he has been totally powerless to influence voters these past 12+ years. He is just a lead on the wind.
Don't get me wrong. I think Schumer is not a good leader. But the scope of what they can actually accomplish when the American people gave the fascists full control of government is extremely limited. But the American people are children and want to blame them Dems anyhow. Like always.
You talk like an abused spouse making excuses for the latest bruises. I speak from personal experience.
I’m confused. So should we not delay nominations?
By all means do so but my yearly performance reviews always emphasize the need to focus on impact not activity. We delayed a bunch of lower level nominations, that’s activity, what was the impact? Did it slow our march to fascism any appreciable amount? From here it doesn’t seem so.
The lack of ability to connect dots feels deliberate at this point
Activity is sand in the gears. It's all good.
We have no power, stalling until the election is all we can do shy of a violent revolution that would kill millions. Stalling appointments IS the right strategic play, and they need to do MORE of it, not LESS.
That Chuck Schumer has so many voters convinced that political power begins and ends at minor procedural machinations and sternly worded letters is a large part of why we’re in this mess.
I don't think depriving Trump of political power is a "minor procedural matter," I think it's actually very important to do
Again, if you think missing some low level appointments is going to materially slow Trump and Miller and co from proceeding full steam ahead with their goals then you may be from the Chuck Schumer school of politics which has overseen the destruction of American democracy.
its always helpful when people just like, say they aren't paying attention and shouldn't be taken seriously. appreciate it
Chuck Schumer’s strategic brilliance is unmatched. His strong leadership and forward thinking has brought us to this incredible moment and I look forward to decades more success under his watchful eye. A historic Democratic leader.
So what would you have them do? Simple question.
The highest leverage thing Chuck Schumer can personally do for the future of democracy is step down from leadership and retire so we can get an actual fighter with long term strategic competence in place. Any executive overseeing his record of failure the past 10 years would’ve long ago been fired.
That's not policy lmao So what would you have his replacement do? You don't have an answer and don't understand how things work you're just shaking your fist at the sky Schumer sucks but you aren't contributing anything at all
The GOP has a majority of the house, the senate, has 6 supreme court justices (who are extremely partisan) and they have the executive. Pray tell, what power do they have?
We are in this horrific position because of the strategic mind of the same person you are currently lauding for their execution. Chuck Schumer’s best solution to the Supreme Court is working very hard to get term limits that won’t do anything for ~20 years and even then guarantee no improvement.
So what would you have them do? What is the thing they can do that they aren't doing? If its so obvious, just state it already.
Cool nice to hear RFK jr hasn’t been nominated yet….
Then where were the delay tactics when RFK and Noem were up for approval?
That's literally discussed in the article!
Where does it say anything about either of them?
No, it’s not. And when Obama was President, random GOP Senators in the minority were somehow able to completely blockade nominations, but now we’re supposed to believe the Minority Leader’s hands are tied?
From what I understand, the senate rules were actually different then. Dems altered them to avoid the situation in the future and then lost the senate in '16. Essentially, they accidentally made obstruction harder for themselves to accomplish. Not 100% sure though, as this is hearsay on my part.
