Should not the HHS director be required by law to have SOME background in actual science, if not medicine? A drug-addled, over-tanned, never-has-been, political scion who has milked his family name dry should not be allowed to have such critical decision-making powers.
As with other cabinet secretaries, the HHS secretary is almost always just a politician, often with a law degree. RFK is a villain, but not for this reason. Running a federal department is a job for a professional administrator. The deputies are the people who bring subject matter expertise.
