That's a pretty depressing spectator experience though - far from the pitch, minimal shelter over the seats. Stark contrast to Shanghai's Hongkou stadium which I consider one of the best stadiums for watching football anywhere, especially after a few warm MONS under my belt.

Yeah, a football specific stadium will always be better than football played at an athletics stadium. The new Gongti in Beijing is pretty good too, & Guoan fans make a lot of noise there. Langfang play in the 3rd division so no demand for a football specific stadium really. They're only small.

Imagine it must be electric when they play Shenhua. Never managed to grab a ticket unfortunately.

Never made it to a Shanghai-Beijing match sadly, but the Henan away crowds were always great to watch. Non-stop chanting and clapping all match. No doubt the Henan fans were happy about not having to live in Zhengzhou.

I did Zhengzhou as a 'Where is Curt?' on the old site. It's not very exciting as a city, but I've been to worse. It's not even the worst capital I've been to (that'd be Changchun) x.com/CurtExplores...
