Dozens and dozens of white cis men do mass shootings and they're all "lone wolves", but one transgender person attempts to and it's "a common denominator".

This is absolutely outrageous.
And look - I don't want to do any sketchy investigation here. From what we know, the shooter identified as a woman, so I have no reason to think that she wasn't a woman. I am not saying that we should doubt that, in any way.
But we also know that she wrote in her journal that she was "tired of being trans", that she "wish[ed] she hadn't brain washed herself into being trans" and that she didn't like her long hair and was only keeping it because it was the only aspect of being trans she had left.
Those are not things that someone who is having their gender identity supported, being accepted as who they are, and receiving the gender affirming care and treatment she needs writes. They're the kinds of feelings a good therapist and a supportive community can help with, whatever that means.
If there's "some sort of accountability on the transgender front" required here, it's our accountability as a country to provide *more* access to affirmative care, *more* acceptance of the whole gender spectrum, *more* protections for trans people. Not less.
Well, he said the one they REMEMBER. White guy shooters are background noise.
Many such cases, i usually highlight this difference in treatment of self vs group re. the guilt of entire group perceived by the individual who considers self totally disconnected from their own group bsky.app/profile/voka...
This is one of the reasons why I don't openly present as non-binary in public (aside from not feeling like my life would change too much if it did). A lot of people, some close, wouldn't accept me for who I am.
But my current and former Rabbis are aware, and they've been surprisingly tolerant of me.
