I'm learning that people can't imagine enjoying food without knowing an animal died to become dinner. Just saying, if we were all stuck under vampires and the vampires were debating lab grown blood, we'd beg them to stop killing us and do the fake blood instead

Since you like to compare plants to animals, maybe you can tell me what life my favorite tree is consuming

When people said “water is life” this is not what they meant.

Just because you don’t see life in something doesn’t mean it’s not alive — all things move, breathe, and belong. Life isn’t limited to what you think is alive — the whole world pulses with being, whether you see it or not.

Words have meaning, man. It’s how we communicate. You’re just making shit up. Have you been talking to Chat GPT? honestly, I fear for you.

I don't think you understood what I meant, but that's alright man, I hope you're okay, living in whatever world you are living in. Seriously. I hope you're good.

That's your perspective and only holds meaning to the one that holds onto it even if it's false. comfort in normal is the flaw you become blind

… you’re not a very serious person are you? Did you just make up your own definition for life which includes basic molecules and rocks?

that seems more than a little disingenuous. i can understand why someone might be hesitant towards lab grown meat.

I hope you think about taste. Any idea how many antibiotics any cattle (this includes many fish) get, just "to be sure"?

a lot of people don’t trust something like that that they would deem to be unnatural or whatever. I’m not saying it’s rational or not. But it’s very much a different reason than they “can't imagine enjoying food without knowing an animal died”

i'll tell ya what, keeping animals in cages and forcibly inseminating them is pretty fucking unnatural

Correct. I prefer to eat food that occurs naturally, whether animal or vegetable. No one knows the long term effect of eating lab food.

I guarantee you if you were gonna die and the only option was a lab-grown human heart or liver or lung or pancreas to save your life, cuz there was no 'natural' (i.e. dead person) available, you'd be happy for lab grown. That's where this technology is heading.
