How does buying one million bitcoin (which increases the national debt) reduce the national debt?

Because the debt is based on dollars. If you devalue the dollar, all the other assets value faster. You owe a certain dollar amount, so if your assets are now worth much more, you can liquidate a small fraction to pay it. Or better yet, you can just refinance the debt. Like a mortgage.

Not saying it can’t work, just seems like a mixture of hope and optimism, without structural changes to address spending and income.

Oh yeah, it's a stupid plan that undermines the place of the US in the global stage. But that in itself can be good for the world. Just a moronic step for the US to take itself.

Unless bitcoin really is a CIA project and they've got a backdoor already.

My tin foil hat says that it is a NSA/CIA project to reset the money; but even if this wild accusation is true, does not change what it is or where it is going.

Which we know its impossible given the code is transparent. Even in the case it was a CIA project, worst case scenario they have Satoshi keys. That is it.
