this, from the article, is somewhat strange. one of the fundamental rules of mathematics and computer science is that constraints liberate: power along one dimension means limitations along other dimensions. You can't really rank languages like this

One reason to choose a language is your familiarity with it. Big companies might pick a language that's popular or easy to hire for. The real technical reason is that some languages are more powerful than others. I believe the best decision is to choose the most powerful one.

I don't even understand what this paragraph is saying? is python "more powerful" because you can do a lot very quickly? is rust powerful because of its safety guarantees? is C powerful because it's portable to every platform under the sun?

One of the things I find most frustrating about the Clojure community is this sort of absolutism. I happen to agree with that its choices are largely good "default" tradeoffs for most contexts, but it isn't The One True Way that so many regard it as.
