It definitely would hurt *everyone* if we all did this… but, on the flip side, broadening the scope of pain and danger for *everyone* instead of having it localized to “illegals” might be the forcing function we need to galvanize real and effective resistance to this.

But I also agree with you that it would come at a terrible cost—one I also hope we can avoid. 🤞enough people are willing to protest and call their Congressmen about it before we see these kinds of unintended effects.

See? You seem… galvanized by this. This is the level of energy we need everyone to feel. My point is: if ICE’s mask-wearing become’s *everyone’s* serious problem, then *everyone* will be incentivized to protest it. The costs of this behavior are currently localized, so there’s more room for apathy.
