Horrible food and unhappy that the North Eagan Dairy Queen was replaced by one. [Stopped there once, got tacos, drove 5 minutes, parked, tacos were refrigerator temperature. Seriously. Literally COLD. Never going back.] But good for the local economy and jobs. Maybe we can make better tacos.

I eat there at least three times a week when I’m back in Iowa. Living in Florida has become a toilet bowl since I first moved here in 1986. Hell we even had one Taco John’s about an hour, which I still drove to once a month. They closed it probably 15 years or so ago and I miss them.

I grew up in Cheyenne. Taco John’s tacos were twenty five cents each or five for a dollar! They used to be so good!

Same! Had one a couple years back, and was so dismayed. Even the olés weren’t seasoned!

They changed the recipe somehow. Bland and flavorless now. Very sad.

Potato oles are essentially fried potato rounds with Lawry's seasoning salt (I guess technically there's also some sugar in the seasoning but otherwise it's very close to Lawry's). It's a great substitute if you don't have a Taco John's nearby.
