Exactly!! I think part of the problem is people wanting to make a model that looks good artistically, but neglect to realise that all the dynamics in a good character illustration need to be stiffened out and added back in later with the rigging to actually work!
I never thought about this but when I was learning Live2D I can see how this would be a nightmare to rig properly 😭
Yes!!! I really really like straight tails over curved ones, not only is rigging it in general much less stressful, but it also gives room for a lot of complex shapes rather than being limited to the shape of the artmesh!
