Exactly!! I think part of the problem is people wanting to make a model that looks good artistically, but neglect to realise that all the dynamics in a good character illustration need to be stiffened out and added back in later with the rigging to actually work!
same with mouths!! if it's a unique shape (for example, a common one: :3) provide art of it as a reference, but leave the mouth in a neutral pose (it can be slightly smiling or frowning; just not overly so in a specific direction)!!
hi #live2d artists, as a rigger can i ask a favour? stop drawing tails curvy!!! it causes issues and makes rigging them harder and more time consuming than it has to be. if the tail's natural position is curvy, draw it as straight as possible for rigging and give a reference with the desired shape!

Oh learning how to use 3D rotation expression in live2d has sped up my workflow so much, especially when models have the whole body underneath. Being able to have consistent angles to start from is peak👌
