Maybe we needed saka, odegaard and kai?

Yes. For sure. And Eze and Nwaneri and Dowman. But what I mean is that our three attackers on the pitch could have showed more adventure.
There's a lot to be said for how martinelli helped shut out salah and timber took care of gakpo. We focus so much on offensive production, but these guys at trying to win games, not just score the most goals! When playing Liverpool at anfield, keeping it tight is usually a good idea!
I don’t disagree with any of that. However, in transition, when we had them retreating, and when we had our knife to their throat, we backed off, chickened out, almost. Putting a goal on the board could have changed the game state in our favour. Anyhow - as time goes by I feel less wound-up.
> During the game I rued the opportunities squandered. Fine margins. A worldie of a free kick. A draw would probably have been fairer (but still upsetting as I think, even with injuries, we are a better team than them.)
Match against top teams tend to be cagey affairs that get broken by a spot of magic. It worked for Liverpool today, another day, rice puts his fk in. Thems the breaks, we congratulate Liverpool on their goal and move on. More often than not, 1 point at Liverpool would've been a solid result.
