I worked in a rural ER near a military base. I saw a guy who was recently deployed in Africa, who had stopped by Guatemala on the way home, and two weeks later had a temp of 105. On a Sunday evening, I called the CDC and spoke with and expert immediately. Can’t count on that now.
Doctors really need to have the courage to be explicit with their patients about the loss of these functions.

A lot of states send inconclusive samples on to the CDC for confirmation, I know someone who worked in the lab there and they've lost like everyone but 1 guy who can do the confirmation testing.
