Agreed totally. But frankly the alternative is so much worse. Starmer is not great but just imagine a Farage government. They need our conditional support.

Conditional. And my condition is that I'm not going to shut up and not criticise them when thet do wrong and they *are* doing wrong. I don't accept that, because the alternative is worse, they should be shielded from criticism. Criticism exercises pressure and I want them to change on immigration.

But criticism at crucial times also undermines and gives encouragement/ strength to extremist pov’s. If the moderate line eis weakened by constant sniping all it does is strengthen the loonies. I genuinely feel that this is a pivotal time in the Uk. The centre need to be a solid force

I fundamentally disagree on that. A reform/UK/worse voter doesn't give two hoots what I say. They damn well do notice that there is no prominent voice in government telling them off for what they are and feel emboldened. Like in the US where the Dems have seen trans people as disposable lead us here

Absolutely not. I agree with you that the far right knobhead voter doesn’t care what you or I think. They do, however, follow what the media tell them is happening in the Uk. And the more there is a rift in the moderate left the more they see the only unified voice being the faragist one backed up..
