Yep, the ignorance isn’t with malice. They just don’t know and are taught to not care because “everything needed is in the USA.”

That goes along with having power. As many have written, enslaved people had to know a lot about the “masters”, for safety purposes, whereas the masters didn’t have to know anything about their slaves.
