OMG I can't wait for those checks!! And I do hope researchers will dissect that abomination of humanity and his legacy of cruelty, greed and impunity. We say "never again" but seem to forget two generations forward....

Also, I had people in the UK (!) saying Biden tanked the economy and unless Trump gets in there will be another ‘Great Depression’. Meanwhile, I was trying to digest project 2025 and seeing a whole different horror show about to unfold.

Of course they say that! It's such an immature blatant lie that only the 'poorly educated' can't see through it--the US economy is right now headed for that Great Depression, according to actual economists. The economy WAS recovering from COVID pre-Jan 20. Now we're careening to disaster..

And as with the subprime mortgage collapse, the USA could take the global economy with it. The only (wierd) saving grace might be that people are rushing to do business elsewhere. I don’t know enough to say, but maybe that might soften the impact? Scary times though, that’s for sure.

I think you're right--other smart nations are finding ways to move on now that the old stability of the US is no longer possible. The uncertainties and fear call for a lot of personal and community resilience while also staying accurately informed. Tall order. But we can do it!

I try not to let my fears of fascist absolutism and AI realities cloud the fact that humanity can and will survive our self-induced disasters. We're a pretty resilient lot. We're strong! But many won't, and I mourn all we are and will be losing.
