You could make that argument, it does seem like the reverse these days. These idiots will argue billions should be sent to Israel for their wars of choice and pay for their universal healthcare while every 6 days in the US an October 7th amount of people die due to no access to healthcare.

That’s not getting into Israel not charging tuition for university either. Israel get a pretty good deal, it doesn’t have to put much into its genocide machine and Americans die in debt

Israel fundamentally has nothing to do with the healthcare debate in this country and it makes you sound like a weird conspiracy theorist when you make these sweeping claims. Not everything in politics is bad because of Israel.

It’s not a conspiracy though, US tax payers subsidise the defence of another country. That allows them to pay for services the Us government says it cannot pay for. Are you continently ignoring that 11 million Americans had their healthcare stripped from them recently?

Tread lightly before you accuse me of ignorance of the threat posed by Trump to my country. I'll say it again: we spend a tiny, tiny fraction of our federal budget on foreign aid. That's *all* foreign aid. It is a rounding error compared to what M4A would cost.

We should cut Israel off because they're a horrible partner and are currently committing a genocide. Tying this issue to all the other unrelated dysfunction in our government is unnecessarily conspiratorial and flirts with antisemitic tropes about zionists controlling the government.

My brother in Christ, It’s not antisemetic to question why Israel is the largest recipient of US foreign aid than any other country on the planet. It has nothing to do with Israel controlling anything, it’s about the US government’s complicity in genocide. www.cfr.org/article/us-a...

Foreign aid to Israel is obviously about Israel, and this is what AIPAC exists to push. Trying to tie this to our healthcare issues, or some other unrelated political problem that has nothing to do with foreign affairs, *that* starts to smack of conspiracy mindset.

Nope, I can tie it to any number of political issues that the US government have historically claimed they couldn’t pay for due to the cost. It’s not a conspiracy, the US government subsidises another countries healthcare and higher education. That’s not an unfair claim to make.

Hell, this year alone the US tax payer gave 12billion dollars to Israel. Do you know how much you’ve gave Ukraine this year? $0. You gave nothing.

In fact not only did you give nothing, all military aid bought by Europe and NATO to give to Ukraine is marked up by 10%.

Don't lecture me about Ukraine. That's been my primary political issue since February 2022, and a core reason I stood firm behind Kamala Harris when all the Gaza people were saying we should ditch her last year.

Our healthcare situation is screwed up because of decades of insurance industry lobbying and because MAGA is a death cult. The amount of monetary or military aid that goes to Israel is a tiny fraction of the amount it would take to pay for universal healthcare. They're not really related at all.

It’s a tiny fraction that can be paid for by another country that clearly has the money to pay for it. It’s absolutely related, it’s about time you look to your heavily lobbied politicians and ask them why dems would rather see Americans die than stop subsidising another countries genocide.
