That sounds horrible! At least in Russia the strictness of law is somewhat compensated by the lack of fucks given. I mean, rainbow pins and stuff in public would be a bad idea, but the fandom part, aside from blocking sites and a bit of panic, is relatively unaffected.

That is also an interesting point of comparison! I've met both Chinese and Russian shippers in my current fandom/ship, it's always nice to see them considering the lengths they have to go through to interact.
