That's not what Elon has been saying in public and in investor calls and the beta doesnt produce full self driving either and cant so its still a lie.

Public "marketing" statements rarely meet the legal threshold of being a binding statement. Try again. I'm all for bashing Tesla, but if we don't stick to true and verifiable facts, then we're just as bad as the MAGA dipshits.

aug 25, 2025, 11:17 pm • 0 0 • view

Its a fact Tesla claimed its cars possess full self-driving capability and marketed that to customers and none of Teslas products have full self-driving capabilities.

Arlondiluthel Gemini @arlondiluthel.bsky.social

And on their website when you select the option to add it, it gives you a disclaimer in plain language that the technology is not yet "complete", and IF/when it is, your vehicle will receive it as an OTA update (or you can opt into the beta and have access to it as-is now).

In marketing, they can say whatever they want. As long as the facts are made clear before the purchase is completed. Just like how Trump was allowed to file 60+ lawsuits about 2020, but when it came time for his legal team to stand in front of a judge, they didn't have a damn thing to say.

That is 100% false, which is exactly why the class action lawsuit against Tesla was cleared. A class action lawsuit is a different animal than one person filing SLAPP suits.

Tesla won't get their act together because Elmo thinks he knows better (typical hubris) and is trying to cheap out with camera 'technology' rather than lidar. Ever notice all the extra equipment on a Waymo?

Critical Error @memoryfull.bsky.social

Just because there are competitors doing it doesn’t mean Tesla’s success is guaranteed. Elon removed lidar from Teslas years ago, and there’s no way in hell they’re going to catch up to Waymo with cameras alone. It’s always been vaporware coming “later this year.” That’s the obvious bullshit here.

aug 25, 2025, 10:16 pm • 1 0 • view

keithbostic.bsky.social @keithbostic.bsky.social

The problem is Tesla has doubled (tripled? quadrupled?) down on cameras only. Everybody else (I think there’s one other exception), agrees LiDAR etc. are necessary for self-driving. Tesla has to reboot its approach to be competitive.
