The brutalist decor of every Metro station in DC is something people either love or hate. Count me in the latter group. I find it hard to tell where I am when all stations look the same.

That's not brutal. That's beautiful. Similar to Prague's. Try Ostiense in Rome. Recently restored at street level. But once underground ... 🫣

You won't get lost at this metro station in Lisbon. Apparently they were all going to be designed by artists, but once they did this one they realized it would cost too much and the rest are pretty boring 🙃

It is pretty wild. The funniest part is that it is in just some ordinary residential area, not in any of the downtown stations.

The Philly subway, while old and well worn, retains the original tiling. Each station has a different color scheme for the long ago immigrant who would be able to tell home base by the color when not yet proficient in English.
