One weird dynamic of BlueSky v (better times) Twitter is that having a post get moderate pick-up would mean a nice bunch of new followers. Doesn't seem to happen quite so readily here

It definitely doesn’t. Threads does that but I’m hoping Bluesky can eventually become like Twitter

I feel like this is the *exact* same complaint I saw so many people make of threads.

It just might be. This is tough when starting a new social media

I also think that in general (partly because of advances in “the algorithm” and partly because of shifting ways we view and use social media) people are following people less. Just my own viewpoint, but I’m not sure the way things used to be is ever fully coming back. And maybe that’s okay? 🤔

I won't disagree with your assessment. I do believe that it's a feature, not a bug. Bluesky is a place of ease for me, not a platform where I'd grown concerned about when all of those new followers would start calling me a dummy and try to dunk on me.

We were burned too often by plausible tweeters.
