I’d contend that has more to do with mutual cowardice masquerading as decency. They’re ok with spouting their drivel, and they tend to tone down the rhetoric *some*, but *any* pushback, perceived or real, is met with vitriol, contempt, or self-victimization. They are the same people IRL as online.
Westerners need everything to be cut and dry & need there to be lots of evil people they are bravely battling . I think it's guilt related to privilege, life's very easy here. Millions of people are trying to come for a better life while those here think they're in a war with Nazis. Very interesting
