I don't know about you, but I'm tired of politics impacting things that should be nonpartisan issues. Helping families afford rent, access health care or keep their kids safe should be the focus of every leader – regardless of party – and that's exactly where my focus remains.

When people show you who they are, believe them. It should frightened every parent that Republicans are more concerned about reducing the age of consent to 12 year old. While taking away healthcare, abortions, childcare, food assistance and education. And doing NOTHING about school shootings.

A perfectly sane, humane sentiment. Unfortunately it doesn’t work in a country where half the population suffers from Medieval Peasant Brain. You can’t keep kids safe when their own parents vote to turn them into cannon fodder.
One party wants to do the things you mention and other actively tries to do the opposite. But sure, it’s politics getting in the way.
