In a little more than 10 days, Kentucky celebrated more than $6.3 billion in investment. There ain't nothing Democrat or Republican about a good job. By doing the right thing, we're celebrating incredible wins while lifting our people up.
My faith teaches me to treat others with respect and the importance of forgiveness and second chances. That's why on my third day in office, I restored voting rights for Kentuckians who had paid their debt to society. Now, nearly 200,000 people have had their right to vote restored.

The 'big, ugly bill' is going to hit rural America and every community across the United States. With hospitals closing, people being fired and higher costs for health care, we'll see fewer people going to local restaurants, shopping at businesses and more.
The federal cuts taking place are a betrayal of rural America. Cuts to Medicaid will hammer rural economies, cut health-care jobs and strip families of coverage. Cuts to the US Dept. of Education will hurt rural public schools, leaving kids behind. America deserves better.

When we saw that declines in overdose deaths didn't reach our African American community in Kentucky, we got to work to address the disparity. Last year, we saw results with a 30% decrease in overdose deaths statewide and a 37% decline among Black Kentuckians. Intention matters.
Medicaid cuts will shut down rural hospitals, decreasing access to care and specialists. They'll cause our seniors – parents and grandparents – to lose care, along with millions of children.

We fought hard to secure Individual and Public Assistance for our families and communities affected by flooding. Hours after approval, the FEMA administrator is in Kentucky and we're setting up recovery centers, going door-to-door and taking the first steps to rebuild together.
I was raised to believe in faith, family and the importance of doing what’s right – even when it’s hard. That’s how I lead, and that’s what guides every decision I make. We put our people first, we treat each other with kindness and we never leave anyone behind.
At a time when so many have lost everything, we must put our differences aside, come together and be the best we can be for our people.
