We should be fighting to save lives, not risk them, and these cuts are wrong and dangerous. 2/2

In Kentucky, women and families already face challenges when it comes to maternal care. President Trump's cuts to Medicaid – which covers nearly half of all births in our state – will make these services even harder to access. 1/2 www.yahoo.com/news/article...

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of politics impacting things that should be nonpartisan issues. Helping families afford rent, access health care or keep their kids safe should be the focus of every leader – regardless of party – and that's exactly where my focus remains.

Health care is a basic human right, yet U.S. Senators voted yesterday to throw 200,000 Kentuckians off their health care and millions more across this country. Now, the lives of these people – our fellow Americans – are at risk. The job of a leader is to represent your people, not harm them.

80% of the things American families care about — a good job, health care, safe roads, good schools — aren’t partisan. We need bipartisanship, but we also need leaders to put politics aside for the things everyone agrees on. If we focus on what matters, we can help our people live better lives.

Pope Francis earned the title “The People’s Pope” by showing kindness and mercy, standing for love above hate and extending a hand to help all people. He led by example, and his humility and dedication to God brought people together. His loss is great, but his impact is greater.

Last session, for the first time in our history, the General Assembly put a spending cap on emergency response. There should never be a cap on helping Kentuckians in need. youtube.com/shorts/EkHFb...

Violence has no place in our country, and I condemn the criminal act that took place at the Pennsylvania Governor’s Mansion last night. I’m thankful that my friend Gov. Josh Shapiro and his family are safe. Britainy and I are praying for them.

You know who will pay for the president's 10% levy on all imports? Americans. This will be the largest tax increase for Americans in at least three decades. When things cost more, remember, it's the Trump Tax.

Kentucky, I have some tough news to share. This morning in Frankfort, a child died after being swept away by floodwaters. My heart breaks for this family. Please join Britainy and me in praying for them following this unimaginable loss. 1/2

Cutting Medicaid and gutting the CDC strips away health care from Americans who are already struggling. These are lives, not line items. Health care is a basic human right, and everyone deserves access.

Congratulations to Justice-Elect Susan Crawford on being elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. We need more judges who objectively call balls and strikes, and her win is a victory for our democracy and the rule of law.

American families want solutions to their everyday worries. That means creating good jobs, helping keep the bills down and making health care more affordable. If leaders got back to focusing on right vs. wrong instead of right vs. left, we could get a lot done.

While some leaders don’t care if prices go up, I do. American families shouldn’t have to struggle to pay the bills. This Sunday, I want our families to know I care about them. Let’s keep using our voices and standing up for what’s right.

America should always honor our veterans and their sacrifices. On National Vietnam War Veterans Day, I hope we are all reminded these heroes sacrificed for our freedom. Without them, we would not be the land of the free. To our veterans and their families: Thank you.

Education is the key to a bright future, which every child deserves. The greatest act of public service would be to make our public education system stronger for generations of American children. There should never be a "final mission" when it comes to our kids. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/04/u...

Food and health care are fundamental needs, not line items to be cut. Slashing Medicaid and food support will hurt hardworking families. The budget plan passed by the House yesterday put the American people last, not first – and that ain't right.

We fought hard to secure Individual and Public Assistance for our families and communities affected by flooding. Hours after approval, the FEMA administrator is in Kentucky and we're setting up recovery centers, going door-to-door and taking the first steps to rebuild together.

I was raised to believe in faith, family and the importance of doing what’s right – even when it’s hard. That’s how I lead, and that’s what guides every decision I make. We put our people first, we treat each other with kindness and we never leave anyone behind.

At a time when so many have lost everything, we must put our differences aside, come together and be the best we can be for our people.
