I'm sad to say that since leaving Twitter/X my sales for live shows have dropped quite a lot - it turns out that even though it's a dreadful place it was still useful for getting the word out about events. So any shares / RTs of my posts about live shows are hugely appreciated!

Just want to say thumbs up for leaving - too many prioritise its 'usefulness' over its malevolence. I'm sure hell is pretty good for saving on fuel bills, but... That act alone merits infinite shares and RTs!

I'm new in here. So far, bluesky kinda disappointing. Free from toxicity, but doesnt have the same reach that Twitter. It seems the boicot against Musk didnt work. Many people I followed on X are not here, so I'm thinking about going back, but dont want to. idk if elon breaking Trump helped or not.
I generally like it here and most of the people I want to interact with are here. X is just full of horrible stuff now. Here does just have less reach and things don’t really go viral in the same way by design. Plus inertia is a big thing- people don’t want to move!
I'm an ESL speaker. It seems most people that moved here were Anglophones while Spanish speakers stayed on X. Inertia may be big thing, but we're talking about boicoting an awful man like Elon. It that does not make you move, nothing will. X hurst my soul, dont want to go back, i hope i dont have to
I haven't seen any of your shows yet, but I did sit opposite on the train once from LB to NB (you were already on the train). Didn't want to interrupt you and go all fanboy, so I left you alone. Understand and respect you leaving Twitter, but reckon it's ok for media personalities to remain for now.

This is one of the sad things about the decline of Twitter. There seemed to be a massive buzz of comedians/artists launching their careers (or at least getting a boost) from Twitter exposure/engagement. Tho Bluesky is useful, it's a bit more 'Speakers Corner' than full blown Arts Festival

Not for me. Satire type stuff always worked best on Twitter.

People do this to me all the time. Yes, guys, have heard of Insta. Have been on it for nearly 15 years. Posted regularly for that time. Not every platform suits every performer.
I have none of those, only said it as it came to my mind but I don’t know them. I only had Twitter and now closed that and open Blusky. this is as far as I go with social media

With apologies for piggybacking on your post, I've found the same for sales at my Etsy shop (etsy.co/uk/shop/StillDisgusted - supporting #RejoinEU causes) - exacerbated by also quitting Facebook (Zuckerberg 😡). Turns out having principles can prove costly 🤨
Best of luck and keep pimpin' yer stuff, Matt. Always have a back up plan. Mine was selling popsicles in the Summer and processing Crab in the Winter. I do not recommend either of those. I liked painting houses a whole lot and it paid pretty good. Now I have arthritis everywhere so not so good.
